A legacy worth living for , A destiny worth dying for:
The year 2019 has been a very interesting year with many ups and downs and memories galore.
However for all the things that took place this year the one moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life is my trip to Iceland. I believe it has changed my perspective towards life. All my life I have been attracted towards major towns and cities until I happened to see Iceland which completely blew me away. The raw beauty and the magnificent scenery of the country ensured that a part of me never came back from that country. However what astounded me the most was their attitude towards life and nature. All my life I have abused Mother Nature, taken her for granted, not kept her clean enough and most of all ,I as an educated human being have not spread enough awareness. Iceland bought this change in me and now I have promised myself and Mother Nature that I will try to do my bit and take some care of her.
I don’t know why, but every setback gives me a new perspective on life and somehow gives me a purpose to be a better human being. Most of the times in life we take everything for granted and rather than appreciating the things we have, we keep on cribbing about things we do not have. My visit to one of the NGO’s recently opened my eyes completely wherein a young girl with no parents cried when I gave her an ice -cream and just said one small thing to me” Bhaiyya, Will you please come and meet me regularly and just talk to me”.
Another perspective I have gained the last few years is the true meaning of the word ‘Fan’. It’s very unfortunate that most fans of a sport are plastic. A true fan is the one who sticks with a person/club in bad times as well. In some ways this year has made me realize why I have always loved my Beloved Manchester United. I just want to grow old with this club and celebrate every win, cry on every defeat and go through my journey of life with them. The raw emotion when I see a young kid from the academy play for the first team is unmatchable in this world. I think I was born to support this club and eventually die a true Red Devil.
All said and done when your journey in life is over, all that matters is how you are remembered in life. Do you want to be remembered in life for what you are as a human being or what you achieve as a human being? True respect is when the people below you approach you not just because you can make a monetary difference in their life but because you can make an emotional difference in their life. Every life has a purpose in this world. Every living/non- living being was created to fulfill a prophecy. Life is nothing but a real game that is played every second and you do not even know who you are playing with/against. But in the end it’s up to you to play your own part well and at the end of the game for people to say, ‘I am happy that you were part of my life’. “I believe, that this is a legacy worth living for and a destiny worth dying for”.
